The Universities

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, a historically black institution, is one of two land-grant institutions in North Carolina. It is a comprehensive university with an integrated faculty and student body offering degrees at the baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral levels.

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro has a special place in public higher education in North Carolina as the Women's College until 1965. It has a long-standing commitment to the Liberal Arts in undergraduate education. The University is also a doctoral degree-granting institution.
