The Universities
North
Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, a historically black
institution, is one of two land-grant institutions in North Carolina.
It is a comprehensive university with an integrated faculty and student
body offering degrees at the baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral levels.

The University of North Carolina
at Greensboro has a special place in public higher education in North
Carolina as the Women's College until 1965. It has a long-standing commitment
to the Liberal Arts in undergraduate education. The University is also
a doctoral degree-granting institution.
The universities have a thirty-year
history of collaboration in undergraduate social work education. The close
proximity of the two campuses provides for effective use of mutual resources
and the opportunity for students to experience diverse cultural settings.
